Local Yarra Valley artist Tania Chanter’s first solo exhibition opened on Friday 1st February at The Memo in Healesville to glowing reviews from all who attended.
The exhibition titled, ‘Horizons’ features a collection of some 25 works spread through three spaces in the gallery, with the major works featured in the main gallery. With over 120 people in attendance it was, however, difficult to see the horizon. Not that we are complaining, to see that many people attend an opening of an art exhibition in a regional gallery is outstanding.
Guests were welcomed by Patrick Watt, Program Director for the Yarra Ranges Council, who highlighted the significance of the Yarra Ranges regional gallery programs that are run over three sites throughout the year. Patrick introduced Gary Collier one of the directors at Tusk Gallery who spoke about Tania’s work and officially opened the exhibition. Gary described Tania’s work as ‘powerful’ and ‘gorgeous’ and a very worthwhile investment.
Guests were entertained by Paris Zachariou, who performed a range of hits from artists including Van Morrison, Ed Sherran, Jack Johnson, George Ezra and more.
Tania’s Exhibition runs for six weeks until the 12th of March, 2019. Admission is FREE.
