The Organic Empire was formed from out of one woman’s true love and passion for fresh, healthy and ‘tasty’ food. Founder and nutritionist Angela Gioffre’s social awareness and passion for health and the environment is what drives a unique business model that delivers you the highest quality produce each week.
This love of food is well ingrained in Angela’s cultural roots, with a family history of a combined 100 years in the fresh produce industry. You can expect the type of old-fashioned service afforded only to people of a bygone time.
The Organic Empire is, in their words, ‘truly passionate’ about organic food and the benefits it can bring. Located just off Monbulk Road, Organic Empire’s Food Store is packed with delicious, locally-grown produce as well as organic products, dry goods, bulk whole foods, skin care and books.
The building itself dates back to the 1930’s and has been beautifully renovated with sustainability closely in mind. The kitchen, shelving and trim around the windows and doors have all been constructed from recycled 100 year old flooring, and the displays have been made from salvaged fruit boxes from a local farmer. The floors are made of the original concrete the building contained and have been polished to retain their history.
The Organic Empire doesn’t simply have a physical location either – their website comprises an online store and recipe database, their home delivery system operating week-round to deliver their beautiful products straight to your door. At the moment they only deliver to customers within metropolitan Melbourne, but check in on their website for more details.
