Maroondah Reservoir Park, or Maroondah Dam as it’s more commonly known, is located just over an hour east of Melbourne along the Maroondah Highway.
If you are planning a trip to the Yarra Valley it’s a great place to stop and stretch your legs. You can explore the gardens or walk the path to the top of the dam wall. The car park is situated at the base of the dam wall and from there it’s a surprisingly short walk to the top. From the wall you can enjoy magnificent, panoramic views across the dam and look back over the walls’ edge to the gardens below.
There are plenty of facilities too – free wood and electric barbecues, picnic tables, a playground and toilets.
