It seems there are almost as many markets in the Yarra Valley as there are wineries.
Well….not quite. Anyway, the Farmers Market at The Barn, Yering Station is one of the best. It’s not the biggest, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. All the goodies are from Yarra Valley locals and there’s nothing like having a chat with the people who make the produce.
According to Frances, the market’s organiser, this market is the longest running and only one of its type in Australia. Watch the video to see the interview and full details of the market.
Please note: The Yarra Valley Farmers market has now moved to Punt Road Wines 10 St Huberts Rd, Coldstream VIC 3770.

Wow, that market at Yering Station looks really nice. Not good for my weightloss diet though! Thanks for the information on it, I hope to head out there soon.
They sell some great products, but a market with about 15 stalls is not really worth the trip.
A truly great representation of the Valley and all of the dedicated growers in the Yarra Valley
My two sisters are currently staying @ Chateau Yeing. Pity they missed the market on June 16 – there is always next time. Congrats on a market promoting local produce.
Can you tell me the name of the chap that used to sell salts at yering. Have been there a few times looking for him but never there . Would appreciate contact details.
