The Yarra Valley is host to a number of “U-Pick” or “Pick-Your-Own” orchards. We visited CherryHill Orchards in Wandin East to experience the pleasure of picking and eating cherries in the summer sunshine.

CherryHill is an Australian family owned company established by George Riseborough in 1940. Three generations later and CherryHill is now one of the largest fresh cherry producers in Australia and they are passionate about growing the world’s best cherries. Take it from us –  their cherries really are that good!

CherryHill has toilets and picnic facilities, so there’s no need to rush! Why not bring the whole family, have a picnic, pick your own fresh cherries straight from the tree for dessert and allow the spectacular Yarra Valley views to calm your spirit and clear the mind!

Note: the orchards are open for picking during the Summer only. Visit their website for more details.

A small entry fee is charged, with the option of a family discount. You can either buy your tickets when you arrive, or book online and save 10%.

For every kilogram of cherries that you pick, you pay $10. It doesn’t get much better than that!
